Four Keys to the Christian Life, Ruth-Heidi Irion

Coming to the Full-Time Training in Anaheim (FTTA) was always my dream. Since I met the believers in the local churches I had the desire to give the Lord some time of my life. During my high school and college years, I always felt distracted and occupied by things other than the Lord Jesus. Thus I felt I needed to set aside some time in which the Lord would have the first place in everything (Col. 1:18). I wanted to give the Lord this opportunity to operate in me (Phil. 2:13) for His good pleasure (Eph. 1:9). I felt the best place for this was the Full-Time Training.

I started the Full-Time Training in February 2002 and my time so far has been marvelous. It has met and exceeded my expectations. One incident that stands out is a special fellowship time I had with one of the Full-Time Training teachers. I asked him how to maximize my time here in the FTTA and how to make the best out of it. He gave me four very practical and helpful keys:

1. Turn your heart to the Lord every morning and tell Him that you want to gain and experience Him to the uttermost today.

2. Use every opportunity to talk to the Lord and stay in fellowship with Him. Pray little prayers throughout the day and converse with Him about everything.

3. Receive and experience everything with the view of passing it on to other believers. We as believers don't live an individual Christian life but a mutual life with many fellow believers.

4. Read the Bible and the ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee on a regular basis. No matter how long or short the daily reading is, the key is to be consistent.

These four keys were a tremendous help to me and they are not limited to my time here, but I can make them my habit for my entire Christian life. Through these practical points of fellowship the Lord is already becoming sweeter and dearer to me day by day.
